Watched a guy at a garage sale in Boise pay $2 for a 1959 map of the US that lists Alaska as a territory
I was just standing there looking at a box of old LIFE magazines when this older guy grabbed it. He flipped it over and pointed at the date and said "that right there is before statehood, that's a keeper." The seller had no clue and let it go for basically nothing. Made me realize how many people price old maps without even checking the year against big events. How do you all spot the good ones fast when you're at a flea market and everything is buried in a bin?
