The 1998 road atlas that still shows the old Route 66 alignment near my town

Pulled an old 1998 Rand McNally out of a thrift bin last weekend for $3 and nearly choked on my coffee when I saw it. My town in Illinois still has that old Route 66 curve marked, but the actual road was rerouted back in 1996. I drove the new route for years and never once thought about the old one until I saw it on this map. The weird part is the atlas also lists a county road that's been closed since 1992, so it's like a snapshot of a place that doesn't exist anymore. Anyone else got an old map that shows a road, lake, or border that's totally gone now? I'm curious how common that is in later printings.
