Rant: my buddy's 'safe password' advice got me locked out for 3 days
My friend Dave, who works in IT, swore by using a passphrase with random symbols in the middle, like 'correct horse battery stapler!@#'. I set that on my bank app last Tuesday, then fat-fingered it twice and got flagged for fraud. The bank froze my account until Friday, and I couldn't pay my rent through their portal. Dave said this never happens if you write it down, but I kept it in a notes app that logged me out too. Anyone else had a 'smart' security tip backfire on them like this?
