Soldered a whole 65% board in one night with the windows open and woke up to 3 switches that will not register
I was chasing that perfect thock on my new hotswap build, so I decided to go full custom and solder a Bakeneko kit at 2am in my garage in Reno. Everything felt great until I plugged it in the next morning and three keys were dead because I must have overheated the pads with my $25 iron. I spent the whole weekend with a desoldering pump and a headache while my wife just stared at me. Do you guys keep a cheap iron around for cleanup or is it worth dropping real money on a temp controlled model right away?
