Paying off my car dropped my score 38 points, and the guy at my credit union in Dayton wasn't surprised at all
Two months after I sent in that final $214 payment, my score went from 761 to 723 because I lost my only installment loan and my mix got thinner, which nobody warns you about when they hand out the payoff paperwork.
