That ugly twisted cucumber from last July was the best thing I ever pickled

My patch got hit with some weird heat wave and everything came out crooked and lumpy, but I threw a batch of those mutants into a jar with some dill and vinegar and now I can't go back to store bought, has anyone else noticed the deformed ones just taste better?
