PSA: Do not buy those fancy self-watering tomato pots on Amazon

I spent $45 on a set of 3 of those self-watering tomato pots last spring and ended up with root rot in every single one, has anyone else had better luck with a different brand?

Haha I used to be a total self-watering pot believer, thought they were the best thing ever. But yeah after killing three different sets of herbs in them last summer I finally realized the water reservoir just breeds problems if you don't perfectly aerate the soil. Switched back to regular terracotta pots with a saucer and my tomatoes actually survived.

Dude same here. I thought self-watering pots were the magic fix for my forgetfulness but they just turned my soil into a swampy mess. Switched back to basic terracotta last spring and everything's way happier.
