Why does nobody warn you that a $200 writing class can be 6 weeks of "just keep going"
Signed up for a 6 week online class in March, 200 bucks, and the only feedback I ever got back on my drafts was "nice voice, keep writing." If you paid for a class that actually helped your messy drafts, where was it and what did the teacher do differently?
Nice voice, keep writing" is exactly the kind of feedback that means the teacher did not read your draft. I paid 60 bucks for a community college class and the teacher marked up every page with questions like "what does she want here" and "this sentence does three jobs, pick one." That is the difference. A real teacher gets specific about what is not working, not just what sounds pretty.
