Liebherr vs Terex for tight urban jobs
After running both on the same site in downtown Portland last month the Liebherr was way better. Terex has the power but the Liebherr's counterweight setup lets you spin in way less space. Having that extra 3 feet of clearance saved us from tearing down a fence. Anyone else find one brand handles tighter spots better?

Oh wow, that's a good point about the fence situation. But here's something nobody's talking about in this tight spot debate: the weight distribution messes with your ability to add attachments. I've seen guys slap a big auger on a Terex and the whole balance gets thrown off in a tight alley. The Liebherr's lower center of gravity just lets you get more done without having to re-jig your setup every time you switch tools. And in urban jobs where you're running between different tasks all day, that saved time adds up fast. It's not just about spinning in place, it's about how the machine handles when you're carrying something awkward.

Hear you loud and clear on that balance thing. I watched a buddy try to run a demo hammer on a smaller Terex in a backyard once, and the whole front end got so light he could barely keep the tracks planted. It's just not fun when you're trying to be precise and the machine is fighting you the whole time (especially when there's a fence six inches away). The Liebherr's lower center of gravity is a huge help - it lets you keep working instead of having to reposition every five minutes. That saved time is no joke when you're on the clock.
