Our general counsel told us to settle a $75k contract fight, and I think that was a mistake
Back in March, a vendor in Columbus shorted us on a delivery and we had a solid paper trail showing they owed us around $75,000 in damages. Our GC pushed hard to settle for $20k to dodge discovery costs, so we folded, and I still think we left money on the table. Has anyone here actually pushed back on in-house counsel and won that argument, or does legal always get the final call?
