Suppliers tweaking mixes without telling us is becoming a real headache...

I've been seeing more cases where the concrete shows up and it's just off... like the slump is different every time. Last week, we had a pour that set too fast because the mix additive was changed. It messed up our timing for the finish work. Now we have to check every batch ticket, which slows things down. It feels like they're cutting corners to save money. We end up with more callbacks for cracks and spalling. Something has to give with this lack of communication.

That "slump is different every time" problem really hits home! I saw a report last month how these quiet mix changes can lead to more cracks down the road. Getting them to stick to the agreed recipe is the only way to stop the callbacks.

Wait, they're actually changing the mix without telling anyone? That's insane. I saw a crew just hose down a whole truckload once because it was "too stiff to pour" and then act like nothing happened. @murphy.ruby is right, it's a recipe for walls that split open in a year. How do they even sleep at night sending out stuff that's basically a different product every time?

Saw a recall notice last week for pancake mix that had too much baking soda. Same idea, companies mess with the recipe for speed or cost. Feels like everything's getting quietly watered down now.
