Appreciation post: my screed was riding 3/8 inch high at the garage apron until a finisher in Tulsa set me straight
Had a small win last month I keep thinking about. Six years into pouring flatwork, I caught myself pulling the screed with my arms and letting my shoulders lean forward. The guy running the pump in Tulsa watched me for a minute and asked why I was leaning like I was trying to push a shopping cart uphill. He showed me to keep my weight back and let my hips do the work, and my next 4 slabs came out flatter than anything I did all spring. Has anyone else had a habit like that where a total stranger spots it in 30 seconds?
