Saw a real mess of cables at a small business in Springfield

I was fixing a server for a dentist's office in Springfield last Tuesday. Behind their main desk, the cables were a total rat's nest, all tangled up and hanging down. The office manager said it's been like that since they moved in two years ago and they just ignore it. It made me think about how often we see this and how it can cause problems later. What's the worst cable mess you've had to sort out for a client?

Oh man, that sounds like a fire hazard waiting to happen lol. @the_simon is right, it's crazy what people will live with. My worst one looked like a spider made a web out of ethernet cables.

Ever notice how messy cables are a sign of a bigger "out of sight, out of mind" problem? People will put up with a real hassle every single day just to avoid a one-time fix. It's like that junk drawer everyone has, but for tech.

Get some velcro strips. Wrap each cable tight, then run them together. Takes 10 minutes and you'll never trip over that mess again.
