I was ghost-imaging drives with Clonezilla for 3 months before a client showed me what I was missing
Customer brought in a Dell Latitude that wouldn't boot, and I cloned the old drive to the new one like always, but Windows threw a 0xc0000225 error every time. He asked if I was using sector-by-sector mode, and I had no clue that was even a setting. Turns out I'd been doing normal mode the entire time and getting lucky on most drives. What's everyone using for drive migration these days, because I'm clearly behind.
Check if the old drive is actually failing before you clone it, because sector mode just copies the bad parts too. Clonezilla works fine for most stuff but Macrium Reflect handles Windows migrations way better in my experience. The 0xc0000225 thing usually means the boot files got messed up during the copy, not always a sector issue.
