I finally hit 500 dives logged and it caught me off guard

I've been doing inland commercial work for about 7 years now, mostly bridge inspections and dam repairs around the Pacific Northwest. Was just updating my logbook last weekend and realized I'm at 503 dives total. Never really thought I'd get there, especially starting out when I could barely get 20 dives a year. Did anyone else have a number sneak up on them like that? Curious what your milestone was and what kind of work you were doing when you hit it.

Wait, are you really counting dives as a milestone when you're just doing routine commercial work? I've seen too many guys get hung up on numbers instead of focusing on whether they're actually doing SOLID work.

I mean, I get what you're saying but counting dives can actually help you spot patterns in your work quality. Like if you notice something goes wrong every 15 dives or so, that number gives you a benchmark to figure out what's changing.
