That 1507 Waldseemuller map put America on the map in a spot that's just plain incorrect
I always figured old map mistakes were small stuff, but this one labels the new world way off from where it actually sits, and it's one of the first maps to even use the name America. Picked up a $6 reprint at a library sale in Boise last month and stared at it for an hour. Does anyone else collect reprints of famous maps just to spot the errors?

I read that Waldseemuller actually placed America about 1,000 miles too far west on that 1507 map.
