Passed on a 1912 tourist map of the Ozarks for $40, still kicking myself
Saw it at an estate sale in Springfield 6 months ago, a fold-out map with hand-drawn trails and a coffee ring in the corner, and the seller wanted $40. I picked a clean 1970s road map for $5 instead because I figured the old one was too beat up. Turned out the 1912 one had a printing error where a whole river was labeled wrong, and I saw that same map go for $300 online last week. So what's your rule, buy the rough old one or play it safe with something clean?
