Found a 1943 gas station map of Reno at a garage sale that shows streets that don't exist
Stopped at a garage sale on Wells Ave in Reno on Saturday and dug a folded up map out of a 50 cent box. Got it home and it shows about 8 streets near the river that aren't on any modern map, plus a whole neighborhood labeled 'War Housing' that's just a parking lot now. I emailed the county historical society and a guy wrote back saying those blocks got bulldozed in 1951 for a freeway spur. Now I check every paper box at sales for old city maps. Has anyone found one of these where the phantom streets turned out to be a printing mistake instead of real ones?
