I finally ditched my French press for cold brew and wasted $34 on a mason jar setup

Bought a fancy 32 oz jar with a metal filter insert for $34 at Target, and after 3 batches every cup had fine sludge at the bottom because the mesh holes were too big, while my $12 nut milk bag over a plain pitcher gives me cleaner coffee with zero grit, so has anyone found a jar filter with actually tight enough mesh to keep the silt out, or should I just stick with the bag?
