Rant: Drinking espresso black is not the only way to enjoy good beans

Honestly I just don't get why so many people in this group act like adding milk or sugar is some kind of crime. Last week I pulled a shot of a single origin Ethiopian from a local roaster in Austin and it was way too acidic for me. So I added a little oat milk and a pinch of sugar and it tasted amazing. People here would probably say I ruined it but I enjoyed it way more. I learned that my taste buds don't care about some purist rule book. What matters is if I like what I'm drinking right? Has anyone else had a good cup get better with a splash of milk?

Did that oat milk actually mask the brew or balance it?

I like my espresso like I like my jokes - heavily dependent on milk.
