Just ran the same part for the 10,000th time on our old Haas and the number hit me different

That number is a whole history book. Think about all the hands that loaded that part, all the tiny adjustments over the years to get the cycle time down, all the coffee breaks taken while it ran. That machine has seen more of that one shape than anything else in its life. It’s like the part owns the machine now, not the other way around.

Totally get what you mean! My car is basically just a mobile trash can for old coffee cups at this point. It's forgotten its original purpose and now fully belongs to my bad habits. That machine probably feels the same way, just a shell for making that one part forever. Kind of a funny, sad thought when you put it like that. Makes you wonder what else is out there, stuck in a loop like that.
