Dropped a full bain marie of stock 10 minutes before service started

Was prepping for a busy Friday night dinner rush at this little bistro downtown. Grabbed the bain marie handle but the thing was slick with grease, slipped right out of my hand. Splattered all over the floor and my chef whites. Had to borrow the line cook's backup jacket and scramble to pull together a quick veg stock from scraps. Waiter walked by and asked if that was a new soup of the day. Anyone else ever have a disaster like that where you just had to laugh and roll with it?

Wait, you actually made stock from scraps on the fly? That's kind of impressive...
