Showerthought: the milk from a box of Frosted Flakes tasted totally different after my grocery store switched suppliers in April
I get the same box of Frosted Flakes every time I do my run at the Kroger on High Street, and back in March that leftover milk was thick, sweet, almost like a vanilla milkshake at the bottom of the bowl. Then around the second week of April it went thin and watery, barely any sugar left in it, like I was drinking plain 2 percent with a whisper of corn. I thought maybe I was losing my mind or my taste buds died, so I did a side by side with an old box I had stashed in the back of the pantry from February, and the difference was crazy. The old one left a coating on the glass, the new one just ran right off. I asked the stock guy and he said they switched to a different plant out of Columbus about 6 weeks back, same brand label and everything. So now I'm stuck chasing that old milk flavor and paying the same $4.29 for a worse bowl. Has anybody else noticed a drop like this when their store changed where the cereal comes from, or am I just being picky about my leftover milk?
