Showerthought: my milk went fizzy after I mixed two cereals in one bowl
I did something dumb on Tuesday night and I still cannot stop thinking about it. I had about a third of a bowl of frosted flakes left and rather than pour a fresh bowl, I dumped in some plain bran flakes to use up the box. The milk started out fine, kind of sweet and vanilla-ish, but after about two minutes it got this weird tingle on my tongue, almost like it was carbonated. I checked the date on the gallon and it was still good for four more days, so it was not the milk going bad, it was the cereal combo. I sat there at the kitchen table in my apartment just staring at the bowl like it had insulted my mother. My wife walked by and asked why I was making a face, and I told her the milk was fizzing, and she said that was the most disgusting thing she had heard all week. I ended up pouring it out, which pained me because I hate wasting food, and I have not mixed cereals since. Has this happened to anyone else, or did I just create some kind of cursed chemistry experiment with two cereals that should never meet?
