Why is everyone here so obsessed with 90-minute blanks?
Maybe it's just me, but I keep seeing folks flexing their 120-minute TDK or Maxell tapes and acting like that's the peak of collecting. In my 20 years of swapping at the Ann Arbor record fair, those thin 120s snap way too easy and the sound quality drops off after the first 45 minutes. I'd rather take a solid 60-minute Type II any day, especially for live recordings or mixtapes. Am I the only one who thinks the extra length just isn't worth the risk?

Ugh, tell me about it. I bought a 10-pack of those 110 minute TDKs back in the day specifically for a Grateful Dead show, and the tape deck literally ate the last 20 minutes of the second set. The thin tape just twists up so easy, it's not worth the headache. I'd take a tough 60 minute BASF over any of those long ones for anything with loud bass, they hold up way better.
