Realized I was the idiot using the wrong side of the cassette case for 10 years
I always shoved the J-card in the front clear pocket of Norelco cases thinking that's where it went. Then last month a guy at a swap meet in Portland pointed out the back slot is actually for the artwork and the front just holds the tape itself. I've been doing it backwards since like 2012 and never noticed. Anyone else have that moment where something so basic just clicked way too late?

Is it really that big of a deal though? The tape still played fine, right? Sounds like you just made it a little uglier for yourself for a decade, big whoop.

Heard someone on a podcast talking about how people who fix their own stuff end up hating it more than if they just left it broken. Something about the memory of the mistake sticking with you longer than the fix itself. Ten years is a long time to look at your own handiwork and wince every single time. So yeah, the tape played fine, but that's not really the point. It's the daily reminder that you did a sloppy job that gets you.
