My 1986 Sony Walkman ate a tape I have been hunting for two years
So I finally got my hands on a copy of a live bootleg from a show in Portland in 1988, traded a guy two blanks for it. Popped it into my old Walkman on Tuesday and about 30 seconds in I heard this crunching sound and it just stopped dead. Opened it up and the pinch roller had basically turned to goo, grabbed the tape and stretched the first minute into a wrinkled mess. I tried to splice it back with a razor blade but the timing is off now and it sounds wobbly. Does anyone know a repair guy in the Phoenix area who won't charge me an arm and a leg, or am I just out of luck here?
