Small salvage job on a flooded quad turned into a full engine rebuild

Pulled my 2005 Polaris out of a creek near Thunder Bay after spring melt, figured a carb clean would do it, but the crank bearing was shot and now it runs better than it did 3 years ago, has anyone else had a disaster project turn into their favorite ride?
