Question about my camp stove finally dying after 312 trips, is that normal?
My little Coleman two burner finally gave out on me at a campsite near Bend, Oregon last weekend and I did some math that surprised me. I pulled out my old trip log (yes, I keep a notebook, don't judge me) and counted 312 nights of cooking on that thing since 2011. The cost worked out to about 22 cents per trip, which is way less than I would have guessed when I paid $70 for it back then. The regulator is what finally quit, the burners still light fine, so now I'm stuck deciding whether to fix it or just buy a new one. Has anyone replaced just the regulator on one of these, and did it actually work or was it a waste of money? Also curious if 312 trips is about average for a cheap stove or if I just got lucky.
