Spent $45 on a cable comb and instantly regretted it

I bought one of those metal cable combs for running ethernet through my office wall last month. Thought it would make the 12 drops look perfect but the teeth kept snagging on the jacket. Ended up going back to the old method of taping the cables to a fish tape and pulling them through one at a time. The comb sits in my drawer now next to other junk I never use. Anyone else find those tools are more hype than helpful for actual wall pulls?
