Serious question, what's your go-to stretch for sore shoulders from pulling cable?
I've been getting really bad shoulder aches after jobs where I'm running lines through tight spaces. My buddy warned me it could turn into tendonitis if I ignore it. What stretches or routines do you use to prevent this kind of pain?

Rest it first, then gentle mobility work helps more than stretching.

Stretching is a complete waste of time for that kind of pain. It just makes the irritated area more angry. What you really need is to stop the motion that's causing it, not yank on it more. All that pulling on sore tendons can actually make things worse long term. Better to rest it completely or change how you're moving the cable. I've seen guys get way more hurt trying to stretch out an overuse injury.

Yeah, that part about pulling on sore tendons making things worse long term is so true. My friend Jake had this awful elbow pain from too much climbing and he kept stretching it every morning. It just got more angry until he could barely grip anything. After seeing @viola_perry's advice, I finally get why his plan failed so badly. He totally needed to stop the climbing motion first instead of yanking on it!
