Wasted $40 on a fancy bullet journal before realizing a $3 notebook works way better

Bought a Scribbles That Matter journal online and hated how thick the pages were for my fountain pen, so now it's sitting in my drawer while I use a cheap composition book from the grocery store.

Got a nice bullet journal as a gift once and felt the same pressure to use it. But honestly a plain notebook with thinner pages just works better for jotting stuff down fast. Made me realize fancy tools don't matter as much as what fits your flow

Thinner pages? That actually threw me for a second because most bullet journals have thick pages on purpose so markers don't bleed through. Did yours actually hold up okay with pens and stuff on the thinner paper or did you have to switch to a different pen? I tried using a Moleskine once for planning and the ghosting drove me crazy. It's funny how we get sold on the idea of the perfect tool but the cheap stuff sometimes just works better for how our brain actually operates.
