Serious question, did anyone else get told the 50/30/20 rule was gospel and then it backfired?
My old coworker from Denver swore by it, so I split my pay like that for 8 months. Then my car needed a $900 repair and the 'wants' bucket was already gone, plus my needs were way over 50% because rent here is insane. Did that rule ever work for anyone, or is it just for folks with low housing costs?
