My bank's 'round up' feature almost wrecked my grocery budget

I was at the Kroger on Elm Street last Tuesday, and my card got declined trying to buy $85 worth of groceries. I knew I had put that money aside. Turns out, I'd turned on a 'round up to save' tool months ago and forgot. It took $30 from my checking over two weeks, moving it to a savings account I never check. I had to quickly move the money back from savings right there at the register. Has anyone else had a helpful feature turn into a hidden problem?
