Just spotted a common mistake that burns through your food budget abroad

On my last trip to Paris, I kept grabbing meals right by the Eiffel Tower because it was convenient, lol. Those places charge like three times more for the same food you can get a short walk away. I paid 18 euros for a basic sandwich that would cost 6 in a neighborhood cafe. After a few days, I asked a local shop owner where they eat lunch, and it changed everything. Now I make a rule to always eat where the workers are, not the tourists. It saves cash and the food is way better. Trust me, take ten minutes to find a spot off the main drag. You'll have more money for fun stuff later.

Paris workers eat fast, not always where we can sit.

Seeing that always hits home, workers just gulping down food by a metro entrance. It really does feel like they're grabbing those few minutes wherever they can, like Keith said. You spot the same rushed energy in any packed city, honestly.

Maybe they're grabbing a moment of freedom between tasks, even if it's just standing up. The rush isn't about the food, it's about stealing a break.
