Spent $11 on chicken thighs instead of $19 on breasts and fed us for 4 nights
I stood in the meat aisle at WinCo for way too long last Sunday doing math in my head. Chicken breasts were $4.99 a pound, thighs were $1.99. I went with the thighs even though my partner swears she hates dark meat. Threw them in a sheet pan with potatoes, carrots, and a whole head of garlic. Total came to about $8 for veggies on top of the $11 for meat. First night was great. Second night I shredded the leftovers into tacos and she never noticed. By Thursday I made a soup with the bones and the last bits. Four dinners, two lunches, under $20. Now I'm wondering what else I've been overpaying for. Anyone else switch to thighs and never look back?
