The crossing guard on Bothell Everett Hwy told me something I keep thinking about
I was walking to the QFC on Bothell Everett Hwy last Tuesday around 7am and the crossing guard stopped traffic for me even though I was still half a block away. I waved him on but he just stood there in the rain with his little stop sign, so I jogged over and said sorry for making him wait. He said "I'd rather stand here an extra 30 seconds than watch somebody get hurt hurrying." I don't know why that hit me so hard but I've been thinking about it all week. Has anyone else had a random moment with a stranger around here that just stuck with them?
