Just realized my brand new Level 6 Transit blade snapped after 30 minutes on a glue-down job
Picked up a fresh box of Level 6 blades from Home Depot in Bothell last Tuesday. Third cut into a commercial glue-down in Kenmore and the blade just snapped clean in half mid-pull. I was heated because that never happened with the old orange ones I used for 5 years. Anyone else notice these new ones are way more brittle?

Yeah that gold coating is just for show, stick with the plain ones!

Oh man, that's rough. But I think you might be mixing up your Level 6 blades. The new ones with the gold coating are actually meant for carpet and padding, not glue-down vinyl. They made a change last year where the gold ones are thinner to slice through carpet fibers easier. The old orange ones were the heavy duty version for glue-down work. I grabbed a pack of the orange ones at Home Depot in Lynnwood last week and they still have them on the shelf. Might be worth swapping out that box if you can find the right ones.
