I think the city's plan to fix the Main Street potholes is missing the real problem

Last Tuesday, my car's alignment got wrecked hitting that huge crater by the old theater, the one they keep filling with cold patch. I called public works and they said the patch is a 'temporary fix' while they plan a bigger project next year. But filling the same hole every few months just wastes our tax money. They need to fix the whole road base, not just the surface. Has anyone else had damage from that spot and gotten the city to listen?

That's how they handle everything now, temporary fixes on top of broken systems. It's not just roads. My apartment complex does the same thing with a leak in the ceiling, just painting over the water stain every few months. They'd rather spend a little money forever than actually solve the problem once. It's a mindset, and it's why nothing ever gets truly fixed. Your tax dollars are just paying for the next band-aid.

Ever try a certified letter to the landlord? Got mine to finally fix the roof after I sent one.
