The dice tray trick that stopped our Tuesday night arguments

We kept losing dice under the couch during our weekly game at my place in Columbus, so I glued a strip of felt to the underside of a cheap serving tray and it caught everything. Has anyone else made a simple fix like this for their own setup that ended up working better than store-bought gear?
