Shoutout to the guy at the Kinkos on 8th who talked me out of laminating my kid's crayon drawings
So I walk in with this stack of maybe 40 drawings my 6 year old did, all ready to laminate every single one and hang them in these $3 frames I got from the dollar store. The guy behind the counter, older dude with a beard, looks at the pile and just goes "how much you spending on this?" I tell him around $50 for the lamination. He shakes his head and says the lamination will yellow in about 2 years and the crayon wax will actually smear when the heat hits it. I had no idea. He tells me to just pin them up raw with push pins, or use a cheap clipboard from the office aisle. I felt kind of dumb but also grateful. Now when people on here post about laminating kid art to "make it last" I want to ask them if they've thought about the heat thing. Did anyone else learn this the hard way like I almost did?
