My sister swore washi tape would peel my paint in a month, should I have listened?
She used it on her apartment walls in Phoenix and it ripped up 3 spots when she moved out after 6 weeks, but mine has been up since March with zero issues so far. Is this a wall texture thing or did she just get unlucky, because now I'm scared to pull mine down.

Wow, six weeks and it ripped paint? That sounds like a her problem, not a washi tape problem. Phoenix is dry and hot, so her walls probably had cheap paint that never cured right, plus apartment paint jobs are usually the thinnest coat possible. Yours has been up since March with no issues, so just pull one small piece in a corner first and see what happens before you rip the whole thing down.
