My $4 thrift store frame became the best wall piece I own

Found a beat up gold frame at a Goodwill in Austin for like 4 bucks. Took out the ugly print inside and put in a piece of wrapping paper I had lying around. The pattern looks almost like a fancy wallpaper print, and it totally filled that boring spot above my couch. I got the idea from a YouTube video about reusing gift wrap as art. Anyone else tried this trick or got other random things stuck in cheap frames?

The $4 frame idea works because wrapping paper is printed on thin stock, but you gotta watch out for fading. Put it behind UV glass or it'll look washed out in a year, especially if that couch spot gets direct sun. I've done the same trick with old book pages and maps, just make sure you press them flat first so they don't ripple.
