Paid $180 for a Park Tool wheel truing stand, worth it or did I get played?
My shop had me building wheels on a $40 stand from Amazon for months, and I kept blaming my tension for wobbles. Bought the Park TS-2.2 last month and my dish error went from 2mm off to dead on in one build. Half the guys here say a good stand is everything, the other half say it's the mechanic, not the tool. Where do you land?
Ha, I read a thread on a wheel building forum that said basically the same thing. The tool helps, but only if you already know how to read what it's telling you. A good stand shows you the truth, so your hands can actually fix the problem instead of guessing.
