Every time I bend a spoon, I see people wrenching at the bowl instead of just below it
I've wrecked maybe 40 cheap spoons over the last year and a half, mostly the thin diner kind from a bin at Goodwill, and the mistake I see in almost every video is people grabbing the bowl itself. That part is the hardest, thickest spot on the whole spoon, so you get a kink right at the neck and the bowl turns into a wavy little dish. I start an inch down the handle, brace the bowl flat on a table edge, and pull slow with both thumbs on the high point. Last month I did a whole set of 12 from the dollar store and 10 of them bent in a clean arc with no cracks because I kept the pressure off the bowl. Am I crazy here, or do you all bend from the handle too?
