Is passing 1,000 cuts a real milestone or just a number?
I hit 1,000 cuts on my clippers last Tuesday, counted by the little tally I keep on my shop wall. For me it marked a year of steady walk-ins and repeat heads, but some guys say that number means nothing without consistent quality per cut. I can tell you my fade work tightened up a lot around cut 800, especially on coarse hair after I switched to a slower blade pace. Has anyone else felt a specific count change how they approach the chair, or is it all just noise?

Cut 847 is when I finally stopped butchering the back of a dude's head every third time. That tally wall is just a wall of shame if you're not paying attention to the details. I swear half the guys bragging about big numbers are just fast, not good, like a guy who brags about how many burgers he's flipped at a diner. Your 1,000 means you showed up, that's it. The real milestone is when a regular asks for you by name and doesn't flinch when you pick up the trimmers.
