A client's offhand comment fixed my clipper angle for good

Last month a regular in Chicago told me my fades looked 'painted on' but felt like sandpaper up top. I was using too steep an angle on the clippers, digging in instead of gliding. I dropped to a 15 degree tilt and slowed my hand speed, and the blend came out way softer. Anyone else get feedback that totally rewired how you hold your tools?
