Just realized how much my local bank changed in the last 3 years
Tbh, I was at my old branch in Columbus last week to get a cashier's check. I hadn't been inside in maybe 3 years. Honestly, it felt totally different. Back then, there were like 5 teller windows and a line of people. This time, there were only 2 tellers, and the whole front area was filled with tablets on stands for online banking help. The manager told me they process 80% of deposits through the app now. It just hit me how fast the shift happened. I used to go in every month, now it's maybe once a year. Has anyone else's main branch just become a place for problems your phone can't fix?

Branches are basically customer service hubs now. The actual banking happens on our phones. It's a weird feeling when you finally go inside.

Yeah, same here. I went to my branch to get a medallion signature, and it was like walking into a weird tech showroom. Half the floor space is now just for video calls with loan officers. Felt like I was bothering them by needing a real person.
