Swore off coffee grounds on my peppers after a hot week in Tucson killed 3 plants
I was watering every morning on my south-facing balcony in Tucson last July when I noticed my jalapenos leafing out yellow and dropping blossoms, and after digging around online I dumped out the potting mix and found the coffee grounds I'd been mixing in for 2 months had formed a hard, crusty layer that was choking off the roots and holding way too much moisture, so I switched the whole container to a 70/30 mix of potting soil and perlite and the 4 surviving plants threw new flowers in 9 days, has anyone else had grounds go bad like this or was my ratio just off?
