Vent: My sourdough starter exploded all over the kitchen ceiling
Left it in a too-small jar overnight, woke up to a sticky mess splattered on the white paint. Spent 2 hours scrubbing with vinegar and a step stool. Has anyone else had a close call with a runaway starter?

Heard this exact thing happen to my buddy Rick last spring, he used a mason jar with the lid barely cracked and the stuff shot up like a volcano at 3am. His wife walked in barefoot and screamed, thinking something died on the ceiling. Took them half a day and a whole box of baking soda to get the smell out of that corner.
